Not all marriages in Jersey City, New Jersey are perfect. Some couples are not happy with each other and ultimately decide end their marriages. However, what if only one spouse is unhappy? No one wants to be surprised with a divorce. Here are some ways to tell if your spouse is considering the possibility of ending the relationship.

Since January considered being one of the busiest months of the year for divorce lawyers, these indicators could not come at a better time.

One attorney points out that individuals who are unhappy with their marriage often speak to friends about their spouse. These discussions often occur when the soon-to-be ex is not around, but if any indications appear that this is happening, it may be time to prepare.

Some spouses that are planning to surprise their other half with a divorce may suggest that the unaware individual make some financial moves. They may also begin spending more time with the children, perhaps to buffer their chances of taking custody if the chance arises in court.

In regards to spending more time with the kids, they may take care of bedtime or do homework with them more often, anything that could be used as proof of being a good parent. However, a sudden change of behavior in this direction may be welcome and even desired by the other spouse, especially if he or she has felt overburdened for some time.

Other tactics used by spouses who are no longer happy with their marriage may involve their business. Months of planning may go into this. If your spouse has been telling you that he or she is making less and less and the business is doing poorly, it may be a cover for lower support payments when the divorce is settled.

According to one expert, these tactics are about managing expectations. If they do not expect to get a lot in the divorce, they may not try for it.
